Eaten by a coyote.

Eaten by a loose dog.

Picked up and stolen.

Picked up and sold to a test lab.

Ran over and tossed into a garbage can.

Why'd you allow this poor cat to free roam - especially as old as he was?

If you haven't already done so, make up some posters with his photo on and deliver them to all the homes in neighbouring streets. Ask people to check their sheds, garages or any other outside buildings as he may have been locked in somewhere by accident. Hand one of the posters to your postman and ask them if they'd mind keeping an eye out for your cat whilst they are out on their rounds. Local shops, petrol stations etc., may be willing to display the poster too.

This article has lots of helpful suggestions on ways to find a missing cat. It also has details of both the regional and national missing pet data bases, so it's worthwhile posting his details on those.

I know you must be very worried but please don't give up hope. My sister recently took in a stray cat that had been hanging around for weeks. When she took him to the vet to be scanned for a microchip, it turned out that he'd been missing for 2 years. His owner was over the moon to be reunited with him.

Sincerely hope you find him safe and well very soon.

I'm so sorry for you as I know how scary it can be. If you want to feel like you have done all you can to find him, print up some fliers with his picture and story. Print in color if you can then estimate how many homes there are on your street and the neighboring streets behind your house.

I had to do this last fall when my feral cat that lives in my yard disappeared. She never leaves my yard for more than a few hours so when she missed 3 meals, I panicked.

I printed up enough fliers to put them at the door of all about 70 houses in my neighborhood. I provided a picture and my name address and phone number. I asked that the neighbors please check their sheds as she might have gotten in while they were doing yard work, then they closed her in without knowing.

Sure enough, she was locked in my neighbor's shed for the entire time. If I hadn't asked him to look with the flier, who knows when he would have gone out there again.

I know 13 days is longer than 3 days but it's worth a try.

Good luck!

This is going to sound stupid so bare with me. I'm hesitant to tell you something like this because I'm never sure how people will react but...(sigh). Just try it anyway because your other options haven't been working, you might as well.

Here's what you do: Call on Lilith. Lilith is a fairy (I know...I know..don't judge until you try it) that resides in the underworld and she specializes in finding children and animals. So my suggestion to you is to go into a room by yourself and call on her out loud. Not in your head because she's not God and can't hear your inner thoughts but out loud: Tell her that your cat is missing and that you feel really stressed out about it and also it's important to describe to her what your cat looks like. What color is it, how old, breed, anything that you feel could help her out. She's very powerful and helped bring back my cat when she ran out the door one day. She creates a pushing effect that could lead your cat back home. I'm dead serious about this despite the thumb downs I'll probably get. Who cares? As long as you find your cat. Good luck and I hope this works for you. Could you email me if it does?

Aw.. Some cats tend to stray for quite some time. Don't give up hope yet. Unless some other family found him and took him in thinking he was a stray. Hope you find him. x

My indoor cat went missing for days once. I was heart broken. He needs to be on daily meds and I was convined he was dead. I put up fliers everywhere. Then one day I was sitting outside and there he was. He walked right up to me like he didn't even realize he was gone for so long. Good luck. I hope your cat comes back

just in case someone in your neighborhood, or close has picked him up then you should post flyer's through to people in your neighborhood with his picture, your phone number, your address and asking them to tell everyone they know that your cat is missing to help you find him. Hope this helps :)

I'm so sorry.

Try the usual stuff, flyers, pet shop windows and so on.

Also ask local businesses, shops and pubs if anyone has seen him - you just never know.

I do hope you find him x

take a deep breath and if he/she is not hme within 3 weeks then you might have to give up but you could always buy another cat i know it will not replace your old cat but atleast you will have a cat and after a while you will forget about your old cat and love your new cat

That's what happens when you let a cat go outside. There are people who poison and torture animals as well as dogs and other predators that you cannot protect him from when he is outside.
