I sprayed a bug the size of a small roach maybe 30 minutes ago with ant and roach raid, then when i went to get a napkin to clean it up, my roommates cat had eaten it. He is a pretty tough cat, and I would take him to the vet right now but I have no money for it.. Do you think he'll be alright? He had just eaten breakfast and after he ate the bug I gave him some more food..

You are good to be worried about Mr. Kitty.

If I were in your situation, I would call my vet. (My vet is a really good guy and would give me an honest answer as to the dilemma. If he said that I needed to bring Mr. Kitty in, I would do it! I just tried to call him about your problem & he is out of the office right now. He WILL call me back!)

You could just wait and see if Mr. Kitty gets sick -- in which case you might say to your roommate, "He MIGHT have eaten a bug that was sprayed with RAID."

My gut feeling is that Mr. Kitty will be okay. But watch him for a few days.

Thanks for the update. In the future, have everything ready to pick up. I know of a person who had a kitten and told the management not to spray directly in the apartment for roaches. HOWEVER, the kitten died - because the managment sprayed in the other apartements and a dying roach crawled under the door and the kitten ate the poisoned roach and died.

regrettably, those tropical roaches you have in Hawaii are incredibly perplexing to do away with with "classic" techniques. no longer too many roaches respond to consumer-friendly pesticides, and you quite often have the impediment of your cat turning out to be in undesirable well being from something you make the main of. There are pesticides that's unlikely to break pets--in spite of the fact that they don't seem to be incredibly good adequate for roaches. call a expert exterminator. they are waiting to fumigate your house with an insecticide as the thank you to depart no residue for the cat. and that they are able to additionally assist you hit upon out the place they are coming from and what think ofyou've have been given to do approximately it. For now, which you will are trying sprinkling bay leaves around on your cabinets, or at anyplace up off the floor (so the cat shouldn't chew on them) and verify all your nutrients is sealed in hermetic packing containers. in case you will discover the elementary nest, be sure you purely harm them with a brick or hammer and kill them. look in some place that's heat and damp (in Hawaii that's possibly to be throughout--that's why you have gotten one in each of those risky project.) decrease than the sink is a commonly used project--you have have been given to pry up the "floor" of the sink cabinet to seek for out it. And whenever you kill as many as which you will, then which you will desire to spray below there and positioned the boards returned--the cat should not be harmed with the help of that. in spite of the fact that in case you in spite of the fact that have a project, call a expert.

With raid yes i would be worried, depending on how long ago he ate it you could try to get him to vomit. My dads dog ate grass with a pesticide on it and he gave him hydrogen peroxide to make to dog vomit (its wat poison control told him to do). you could call the poison control number on the bottle and ask them what they think you should do, or they may even tell you the cat might be okay (but i doubt it). either way that stuff is a deadly poison, your not even suppose to breathe it in
