If your cat starts acting very aggresively or differently in a bad manner. Also always check your cat for animal bites when it has been outside and it comes back in. If it has had a bite and you can't identify it, take it to the vet. It is better safe than sorry and your cat could give you rabies if it got it and wasn't treated. It could also give it to many other cats or animals. Normally it does not happen but it is always better safe than sorry!

The only way your cat could have rabies is if it has been bitten by an infected animal.

If your cat got into a fight with a raccoon or something, please take it to the vet.

By the time the symptoms of rabies appear it will be far too late to do any good.

If you have ANY reason to believe this is the case, please take your cat to a vet clinic for quarantine. Call the clinic first to advise them what the circumstances are so personnel can be prepared and arrangements can be made to prevent any other animals from becoming infected.
