OK i just got about a 5 week year old kitten, i already have 7 year old male and female cat, and a 10 year old female cat, what can i do to prevent the kitten from hissing and growling at the male, and the two females ganging up on it when im asleep?

Not sure exactly how old your kitten is - but 5 weeks is too young to be away from its mother. What you should do when introducing any new cat to other family pets is keep the new cat separate from the pets who are already there. They should be introduced to each other very slowly and gradually. It's not fair to leave a little kit like this on its own to cope with the pets who are already well established in the home at night, either.

The kitten should remain with it's mama until 10-12 weeks of age, why do you have the kitten at such a young age?

Keep it seperate from the adults for the time being, at least untill its old enough to defend itself.. then slowly introduce it to the adults so they get used to the kitten! Goodluck :)

it is recommended that you keep your cats separated from the new kitty for the first few days/weeks. maybe the kitty can sleep with you at nights, cats can be very hostile towards new kitties. especially if theyre older, they get annoyed with a kitty, they do not understand that it wants to play, not fight.
