Stories like this, and from around the globe, sadden me greatly.
99.99% for the poor creatures involved.
0.01% for the soul-less pathetic excuses of human(e) beings that justify to themselves any such actions.
This world would be a much different place if those convicted of any such actions, unto humans and/or animals, were dealt the harshest justice of a 'tit for tat' policy at the first instance.
Does this story not scream to you as a crime against humanity!
Defenceless. Innocent. Weeks old!
Nations would be screaming if these were real children.
One day they might.
What's the difference?
A fine will not deter these people or others like them from committing similar crimes. Or even worse offences.
Nor will it rectify or heal the wounds of the victims. Both physical and psychological.
Yet bound the guilty party's limbs, leaving them dangling helpless for days directly near a predator’s territory and you might find one or two (THOUSAND!) other potential criminals might start second guessing their actions - more than they do so now.
We know laws are upheld for reasons. Unfortunately the reality is that a slight error in proceedings, or evidence gained, can give the defence an absolute 'green light' to set a criminal free.
When will we begin to recognize that this 'close call' for a criminal is only likely to encourage and/or determine that they are above the law? That they can simply get away with any wicked deed, given the right set of defensive (legal...?!) strategies.
As a globe, we have encompassed so many new PC ideals in recent times.
Therefore, why is it so hard, as a globe, to rectify and enforce the basic principal that this sort of thing is simply despicable and unacceptable?!
I don't need to ask - I already know the answer.
But it bears commenting on, all the same.
Where have all our morals gone wrong?
Are we really more worried about whether or not someone address' us in a manner that does not befit us? Enough to carry-on and litigate over?
Or are we going to wake up and question our own individual morals and have the courage to say "I'm sorry, this isn't right", and actually do something about it!
Look at the pictures of these kittens.
Can you so easily excuse it?
Ofcourse you can. You start work soon and you haven't even had your double strength soy latte with a dash of caramel yet. WTF
'What sales are on? How's the market doing? Oh, and Lindsay's up to it again!'
Doesn't it bother you?
...about whales being slaughtered? Simply for another human being’s delicacy.
…about tiger’s claws being used as aphrodisiacs?
…about elephant tusks still being harvested for ornaments?
Traditional, you say. These ways have been around for centuries and you're a firm believer in ancient beliefs.
If only the ancients had had Iphones. And internet. And cable.
Traditional?
Going well so far is it?
How do you feel when comparing a nursing ground of dolphins trapped in a COVE just to be slaughtered as a delicacy, to non-fictional characters from outer space coming to conquer planet Earth and farm your children?
You'll be willing to defend as one planet then, won't you?
To save your own @$$!
What about young men proving their maturity by slaughtering an annual congression of innocent, tranquil mammals as a "Right of Passage"?
Does it matter that they will soon forget this so-called passage, once they have downed their pints and head home to victoriously celebrate their great "defeat"?!
IT SHOULD!
I'm sorry - have you not noticed?
There is something very wrong with the majority of the "dominant" species of this planet.
And it sickens me more to think that if our species is ever threatened by another external force, we will forget times past to cower and heed protection from those that truly deserve and respect this planet.
LIFE - get a dictionary.
Humans are not the only ones entitled to it
