So i posted a question a few days ago and I just wanted to give anyone who read or answered it an update.

My question was about spaying my 12 year old kitty named Stubby...

Today we took her to the vet to get spayed. Dropped her off and left.

About an hour later we got a call...Turns out she has mammary tumors =( And that they could go on with the operation and remove the tumors as well but it is likely that they are going to come back (like 95-99% chance to come back) also that they are probably cancerous. They told us she probably has a year or so =( So we decided that it wasn't worth putting her under all the stress of the operation and the chance for her becoming sicker from the operation had increased. So she's back at home

Just wanted to update.

I'm really sorry to hear about that. I'm glad you decided to not operate, let her be around those who love her. It's really sad, my prayers are with you because you were doing the right thing, and you really care about your cat.

To everyone else (not Nicole) reading this, this is why having one's pet spayed or neutered is so vital. These cancers strike early. This is tragic. .

That is the reason to have all dogs and cats spayed and neutered. I don't say this to chastise, but to let others know that this is not an uncommon occurrence. The longer an animal remains unaltered, the more the risk of cancers and other diseases goes up.

I am very sorry for you.
