I have found from past kitty wounds that hydrogene peroxide works wonders. You will have to clean up the area and then dab it on with a rag. If the wound were not so close to the mouth, I would recommend skipping the cleaning and pouring the peroxide straight on. But being so close to the mouth and face, use a rag for best results.

Believe it or not I dissolve some salt in a little tepid water then gently dab it on the infected area with a cotton wool pad, 2-3 times a day....also, if it's on the body (where the cat can't lick !) once it has dried up and crusted over I apply some savlon.
To clean grease off him I would try dissolving some vinegar in a little water and rubbing (also lemon juice !)

Poor kitty...he must have gotten into a fight. I would clean them with a warm wet wash cloth. Then maybe apply a little neosporin...or polysporin to the wound...just a little. Watch the wounds they could get infected, then you will need to take the kitty to the vet.

Belive it or not a human enema is the best way to flush wounds.
