Question:
My cat has TWO tails. Yes, two. Have you ever seen this?

If you look at his tail, each part is 3-4" long and it kinda looks like a peace sign you hold up with you fingers (like a V).

I've heard of cats having half tails, very very long tails, or no tails at all, but nothing like this before. I googled pics of cats with two tails, and find a very very limited number. Ever encountered a cat like this yourself?

He's 17 years old and his tail has always been this way (though it's probably grown an inch or two since he was a kitten). We got him when I was living in Okinowa, Japan when I was two. My mom found him in a rice field.

Does your cat shapeshift? I dunno if your cat has a long or short tail(s) but if short then it could be a Japanese Bobtail cat which have been known to have occasionally double tails.

From Wikipedia:

"Bobtails could have also surged after the legend of the bakeneko, or nekomata, a cat that when its tail grew too much, became a double-tail, and the cat would get powers like talking, walking on its back legs, and shapeshifting. The nekomata could cause massive disturbances and even resurrect dead people. Japanese people may have started cutting their cat's tails to avoid them becoming a bakeneko."

No, I have never seen a cat like that! O.o When he was born, his tail might have been cut in half, and then abandoned in a rice feild. Cause no one would buy him, shame, I would have kept him... Why don't you post a picture of him and his two tails?

He's adorable! I just don't get why they wouldn't keep him!

Can you also post a picture of your other cat, with the eight toes? That's amazing, I never even heard of those! Atleast you have two very unique kitties. :)

Yes! It was funny--because my cat was a little 4 lb. 21-year-old and she was also deaf. She couldn't hear it, but my Max pointed it out to her and Becky had a lot of fun playing with it. No, they didn't kill it exactly, but did mess with the mouse to the point that my teenaged daughter didn't know it was there and stepped on it. Another time, we were awoken in the dead of night by a thumping noise coming from the kitchen. My husband made his way to that end of the house and flipped on the lights. Then he started yelling for me to find him a shovel...Becky had a snake trapped in the kitchen. Apparently, the snake would coil and strike at her, and we did see it the last time-- she would jump straight up, and the snake would thump its head on the wall. The last thump (as Ronnie turned on the lights) knocked the snake unconcious. We killed it--a copperhead. It must have slipped in through the back porch screen door. Becky was amazing--I was just grateful she wasn't hurt!

Wow! Your cat is beautiful. I had never heard of that and found it interesting and did a search and this is what I found. They are called Polycaudal(bicaudal). Your kitty's tail looks like the tail of the second cat here. It seems to occur more frequently in Japan. Thanks for sharing that.

I have never heard of this before. I have heard of extra toes on a cat, but not an extra tail.

A little bit of toenail is fine... but I agree along with you. Long nails are kinda major.

That is fascinating!! I have never seen this condition or even heard of it before. But in all other ways the cat is normal, right? Amazing. A bi-tailed one & a polydactyl all in one famiy!!

I've never seen this before. Are his parents related? Things like that happens with both humans and animals, when they're conceived within the family.
