I scopp the litter box ALL THE TIME and I swear I can always smell it. Is there a litter that really does mask the smell of the urine and feces?

I used that when I had a cat at my mother house and she was paying for it, as I am just starting out in life, I can't afford to spend $16 on a bag of cat litter.
