Kitten of 8 mons has turned into a monster. Does BAD things.NOT listen . She purposely knocks things over.help

My dear Kitten has become one that does not listen. She gets into everything she can.. knocks over things.. and I spray her and she goes right back and does it all over again! I am at my wits end, as I love her to pieces but, I cannot have her rule this house as she is. She has to know whos boss.
She is a purebred Ragdoll. Noted for being kind, gentle and loving. They are beautiful looking cats,and love to be in close quatres with you all the time.
there is nothing she will not tackle..including knocking over my New Lamps, pulling down my shower curtains.. you name it, she does it!
HELP! what to do? Anything you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

There are three things you should try and do:



(1) stop reprimanding and punishments - instead try and build a good relationship;



(2) set up your kitten to succeed at things that you want - encourage her to use her scratching post by putting some of her favourite things on it;



(3) make the things that you don't want your cat to touch unattractive to her - put aluminium foil or sticky tape

To begin with, a common training misconception, is slapping them. Don't do this. Cats don't understand this means stop. To them, it means only "My mommy/daddy doesn't love me!!" therefore your kitten will worsen her actions. If you have been doing this in the past, stop immediatly.Start talking sternly. Also, it's a kitten. Give him time to learn. Slowely, he will. I hope this answered your question! -Cherriey-

slap your hand hard on a table and tell her to "get down" or"no" in a very stern voice.I had to laugh though.Kittens are funny when they race around and jump 3 feet straight up over nothing.You could always videotape her and send the tape in to "funniest home videos"
