My cat will be 1 year old next month and she does meow but its more of a squeak, she opens her mouth like she's trying to meow but nothing comes out? Should I be concerned? She's a very healthy indoor cat

It can take time for some cats to start meowing, and some never meow loudly. They're all different.
I didn't think one of mine could meow at all until she was a year and a half. She did the same thing, just opening her mouth with no sound. She still rarely meow (she likes to yowl and growl more)

My cats the same, she's a dwarf cat, it may just be because of the breed. But I don't know.
