Is it true that there will be a lot of kittens again in October/November months?

All of the kittens are gone fron the local shelters here. But I was reading that an abundance of kittens appear in shelters a few times a year, and October/November is the last one where a lot of kittens are there. Living in north east U.S.

If the cat gets pregnant in the summer months - calculate 2 months after that for kittens to be born and 2 more months till 8 weeks old (tho kittens really should not be rehomed till 3 months old).
So if the cat is pregnant in June, has them in August, then kittens would be ready in October/November.

I live in the Northeast myself. Spring and summer is cat mating season. Many kittens are still being born in this month, which is why a lot of kittens are found in the shelters in the fall (Oct/Nov) as they are 8 weeks+ and ready for new homes at this time.

Cats are seasonal breeders because they need at least 12 hours daylight to maintain a heat cycle. Kittens are often born in spring/early summer and then again in October/November. Once autumn arrives and the days grow shorter there isn't enough daylight to maintain a heat cycle. Some breeders use artificial lighting to replace natural sunlight in winter months so that their cats come into heat.

I live in the North west and we have kitten season in Spring and Fall. Cats go into heat when it gets a warm spell in January, deliver kittens in March/April. Then we have another run of kittens being born in September/October.
