Your kitten needs worming regularly, flea treatment regularly and injections too. Once he or she gets to around 5 months or so they will need either spaying or neutering. Only when this lot has been taken care of do I let any of mine out.

Best of luck and remember its not essential to let your cat out, he or she can be an indoor cat, remember to have a clean litter tray all the time for your kitten and lots of clean water down as well as dried food.

It might be better to get two kittens rather than one as two are company for each other and one might miss the litter mates and mum.

I have never had one kitten on its own.

Well cats need food and water and probably a litter box in side in case they cant get outside. I wouldnt let it go outside by itself for a while though. Just take it out side and let it play for a while. Cats can take care of themselves but as kittens they are still weak. So going outside with the kitten for the first few months is a good safety precaution. They should always return as long as you are feeding them. I just leave food out for my cats all day and make sure they always have water. Advice for a kitten: use a shallow water dish for a while with a very small amount of water in it because they can fall in and drown if the water is to deep. Take it to the vet to get its shots (just like a baby) and I would pay to get it fixed so you don't go from 1 kitten to 10 kittens. Your vet can help you with that though. I always made a warm bed for my kittens but they always ended up in my bed which scared me because I was afraid I would roll over on them but they always came back. Just keep an eye on them and love and play with them. Cats a pretty easy to take care of because they are clean but you do have to feed and water them and keep an eye on them.

anytime you let your cat outdoors theres a chance it will never come back. nature is unforgiving sometimes. depending on where you live there are agressive cats out there, coyotes, dogs, big possums, or rabid racoons, and the dangers of cars. it's best to keep your cat indoors as much as possible. if you want to teach your kitten to be outdoor/indoor but prefer the indoor, let him out the first time during a rain storm. he will learn the seriousness of the outdoors and learn to be careful nomatter what he does out there. let him out the next few times while it rains hard.. after doing that a few times you'll be able to leave the door/window wide open and your kitten will always stay nearby and when it goes out it will come back faster.

Never unless the kitten/cat is under supervision. No kitten/cat should be outside unless its got all shots and is spayed/neutered. If you want to risk your kitten/cat being hit and hurt/killed by a car, chased and hurt/killed by other animals, poisoned by neighbors tired of the cat being in their yard, trapped and killed or taken to a shelter, then by all means let it outside anytime you want.

Cats are much more safer inside and if you want to let them outside, do so by training to a harness/leash and go out with them to walk around or build/buy an enclosure where the cat can sit outside but be protected.

How long do you want to keep your cat? A cat that is let outdoors has an average life span of 2 to 5 years. A cat that is kept indoors lives to their mid teens to mid 20's. http://www.littlebigcat.com/health/indoors-or-outdoors/

I am going to give you links so you can read about owning cats and how best to care for them. I think you will find them interesting. Do not adopt a cat unless it is at least 10 weeks old. Younger ones, especially younger than 8 weeks often forget the training they get from their Mom cat and forget how to use the litter box.

this would be slightly a capture 22 subject for all people that enable our cats outdoors. as quickly as we enable our cat out we settle for the reality that she would possibly not return. She has already been the sufferer of a fox attack as quickly as requiring a three week stay indoors. yet she is returned out now. it is the uncommon cat that can not discover it is way living house as long as that house is a loving/worrying one. Cats are actually not that stupid. They be attentive to the place the foodstuff is stored and the place their 'risk-free spot' is. Our cat ran off like a bullet as quickly as we first enable her out at 8 months old. maximum do; yet they continually come back. She would not run off from now on till we enable the canines out on a similar time. She merely scoots out under the fence the place the canines can not stick to.

Ideally you never let it outdoors - each time you do, you have the risk of it not coming back. If you still insist on letting it outdoors, then you really need to wait until it's been spayed or neutered, and has had all of its vaccines.

JC is the only one i agree with.

they don't need to be outside like a dog does. you let it out on its own, it can run away, someone can take it, it can get hit by a car, another animal could get it.

indoor cats live longer. keep it an indoor cat.

I had an 8month old kitten but waited 3 months before letting outside love them first or they might get lost outside! I'd hate it if you lost your new helpless kitten

Well after it gets used to you, my first cat was let out after about a month. but it doesn't go out too far, slowly slowly it will become of it's surroundings and if it doesn't come back home for a day or two don't worry about it, they always come home :)
