Question:
About my 'ragdoll' kitten?
?

Links below of my kitten, Honey =)

I won't call her a 'ragdoll' as such because she isn't from a registered breeder, though her breeders told me she has ragdoll genes.

Would she be considered to be 'seal point'?

Also, her mother was very little (almost kitten size), is it likely that Honey will be little too? I know ragdolls are generally big cats, what results in small ragdolls?

Cute photos! By the way Ragdolls are classified, Honey is actually a Chocolate Bicolor, . Her points are chocolate and then she has so much white that she would be classed as a bicolor On a seal point the "points" are very very dark brown, almost black, and the paw pads and nose leather are very dark. On a chocolate point, ideally the points are more milk chocolate and the paw pads and nose leather are a pinkish brown. Bicolors have pink paw pads and nose leather.

Yes, Ragdolls are usually very large, but without papers you actually don't know how much Raggy she has in her. If her parents had been registered pedigreed Ragdollls it would have been easy and cheap for the breeder to register the litter. Even if you take their word and they just said she "has Ragdoll genes", that might mean she is 1/2 Ragdoll or even 1/4 Ragdoll.

even if she is all Ragdoll and unregistered because they got the parents from some other irresponsible breeder or the parents are pet quality and were not supposed to have been bred, , it's impossible to predict how big she will get with a mother whose size is so far below the breed standard . (And if the mother is so tiny she is almost kitten size and they bred her to a big Ragdoll size stud, that is pretty crazy . ) No responsible breeder would have bred a tiny female that is so far below the standard size for the breed and might be at risk carrying a litter of big kittens (but of course no responsible breeder would be selling kittens without papers either).

As far as what would make a small Ragdoll, one thing is inbreeding. Let's hope it's not that. but with backyard breeders that is pretty common. Could also just be the runt of a litter and stayed small. or could be not all Ragdoll.

anyway youve got a cute kitten and I hope she'll have a long healthy life with you no matter how big she gets.

Ragdolls are typically described as having very passive and gentle temperaments. That said, a cat's temperament absolutely cannot be determined by its breed alone. The quality of a cat's breeding (for purebreds) as well as the time taken to properly socialize the cat can ultimately have much more to do with what their temperament will be than their breed. There are always exceptions to the common traits associated with a breed, so I don't recommend purchasing a cat and expecting that it will have any particular personality traits just because it's common for many of the breed.

She definitely looks like a seal-point ragdoll. It is possible she could get really big or stay little, it is very hard to tell until they start growing. My friend's ragdoll is 2 years old and still looks like a kitten.

Thats a very cute cat you have their, its very similar to a ragdoll aswell :) I would say that yes she is a seal point, maybe even a chocolate point.

Her size depends on the father aswell, what was he like, if they were both small then she will be but she will have some of her dads gene so it depends what he is like.

I have a very small cat and her son it twice the size of her as his dad was a huge tom cat.
