Get a bowl of warm water and set a towel down. Then get a cat brush ( One with brisels that look like tooth brush brisels) and then get the cat. set the cat down and hold it down around the neck area. then get the brush wet and brush the cat. keep brushing it until the oil is off.

What kind of oil do you mean? If you are talking about natural oils from the cat's body then a dry bath is sufficent.

If you mean cooking oil (vegetable oil, etc.) or baby oil then it is not that big of a concern. A dry bath would also work.

Other oils (motor oil, heating oil, etc.) is a big concern. It could be very dangerous if the cat licks that. I would bring him to the vet to have it completely removed. The vet usually has special shampoos to remove such oils from fur and feathers.

Good luck!
