What are your cats called? Is there a theme to their names?

I have a 13 month old female DMH Calico called Pyra.
She is called Pyra because it is short for Pyrate/Pirate, as she has a black patch on one eye.

I am also getting a 5 month old male DMH Black & White, he is called Louis. After a character from a series of books I adore.

I suppose there is a sort of theme,
I have a Pirate cat, and a Vampire Cat. I guess my next will have to be a Ninja cat lol.

Well, this isn't just cats, it's most of my "official pets".



My cat is a maine coon, so we assumed she was a viking cat. So, we named her Manipoka, which is moon beam in norse.



My dog is a Anatolian Shepard, and she's from Turkey, so we named her Tolah, which is luck/star in Turkish.

Stellaluna - Black domestic shorthair - named after the little bat in the kid's book.

Percy - Black and White Persian - I love British and Irish male names for pets - I've had an Oliver and a Duncan and I found Percy's name in an old baby book my mom had given me (I guess in hopes I'd make grandkids for her LOL)

Penelope Princess Pumpkin - Red Classic Tabby and White Exotic Shorthair - I wanted a "P" name to go with Percy. The "Princess Pumpkin" was added because I show her in the Household Pet Class (along with Percy and Mocha) and wanted a "foofy" name LOL Pumpkin was because of her colouring and because it was October when I adopted her.

Café Mocha Valencia - Seal Mink Tortie and White Ragamuffin - when I adopted her I was looking at her coat and noticed she had all the colours of my favourite coffee drink - the orange mocha. When I registered her for showing I found out I couldn't have her first name "Mocha" as a Burmese cattery had that reserved as the first name of all their cats. I could either change the spelling of Mocha or add something before it so I added "Café"

I have a tuxedo female named Harlequin. Harley for short. She also has the registered name Harley Davidson Mgee. My mom named that one.



I also have two males:



Zeek (Ezeikel) is a Turkish Van and he is all white with a grey tail and two gret spots on his head. I named him that because of the falled angel.



Artax is an Oriental mix who is spotted like a cow. he is grey and white also. I named him after the horse in Never Ending Story.



The only theme I have is trying to find unual names for my pets that no one else has.

Mine are Kelsie (a calico), and Simon (a Siamese- type look), my former cat was Diamond, who passed away.



Kelsie was simply named for her beauty - the name was pretty and seemed to fit her.

Simon was named for his looks

Smoky Blue Diamond was a Blue Point Himalayan Persian. The blue was a smoky color, and his beautiful sky blue eyes sparkled like diamonds.



So I guess I name mine based on their personality and looks. I don't use themes - they are named using their own attributes.

My cats are called Mulan - I'm not really sure why we chose that apart from liking the Disney film - she is 6 years old and completely black!

I have a 3 year old tortoiseshell cat named Princess. Called her that as was totally stuck for a name. The thing is, I am certain that she hates it!

Well, I don't have a cat -- I have a Yorkshire Terrier (dog) named Snickers. :) She is 1 -- and my baby!!



But I live with my older sister and her husband and their children, and they have 3 dogs and a cat.

Yellow Lab: Max

Black Lab: Macy

Golden Retriever: Marley

And They have a CAT, that is a white puffy furball named Marshmellow.

I have two cats



BLACKBERRY is a blackish tortoishell DSH female. She is called Blackberry because blackerry are a blackish composite fruit. Blackberry the cat is blackish and made up of a composite of colours.



WOLFERGINGE is a cameo (light GINGEr) DMH male. He is called Wolferginge because when he was a kitten he had a narrow snout and bit fluffy ears, which made him look WOLF-like.



One of my previous cats was called COTTONPOSSUM, because he was pure white like cotton, and was cute like a possum.



The two before that were called POPPY and PANDA. Poppy was called Poppy because it was cute and I wanted both kittens to have P names. PANDA was called Panda because when I went to view them as kittens, she lay down, bared her tummy and wanted me to scratch it. Hence I had to PANDER to her.

My cat is called Kimmy and she is a Silver Tabby. Beautiful thing she is. White, black and Grey with a smidgen of orange on her nose and left fore paw!!!

My cat is called Jimmy Kater - Kater is the German name for a male cat which is pronounced similar to Carter. He is completely white - just as his namesake's hair.

dont really have a theme..but kodac got his name because his orange hair reminded us of the orange on kodak film boxes..haha
