I've heard all three are really good foods, and I'm not sure which of the 3 are best. I'm leaning towards Blue Buffalo since there are a lot of reviews saying they help with hairballs, which is a good benefit. I like the Halo brand too, but people are saying Innova Evo is better, but I've seen a lot of reviews saying their cats have gained weight on it and I don't need my cats to gain weight. So, which is the best choice?

This how I would rank the three

1. Innova EVO- yeah the dry has lots of calories they do have a weight management dry "EVO Weight Management"

2. Blue Buffalo- I like the Wilderness line. It also has less k/cal then EVO and Halo Indoor

3. Halo

I love EVO. They were bought out by Procter and Gamble so I read the ingredients carefully each time I buy a bag, just to make sure there hasn't been a noticeable change in quality. But it's about on par with Blue Buffalo's Wilderness line. As you've noticed, it has more protein, and that's great in my book. One downer for me is that EVO is more crumbly than a lot of other foods. My resident cat inhales the crumbs and all, but some of my fosters leave the crumbs behind. If your cat won't eat the crumbs, that could amount to a fair bit of waste. Other than that, I really wouldn't hesitate to use either of those foods. The other reasons (besides protein) that I buy EVO are I'm supporting a local family owned business vs a big box type store and this locally owned business is super close to me. But if you had to support a big box store, Petsmart does wonders for animal charities so I wouldn't hesitate to do that either :) Some thoughts to chew on anyway..

Not to confuse the issue but Royal Canin, a premium cat food producer, has a cat food called Indoor Light #40 which works like a charm for our three cats. They hold their weight perfectly and have almost no digestive upset. In addition their poo is regular and doesn't smell as bad as it used to.

I've never fed any of these. My personal favorite and highly recommended is Purina Indoor Cat (I'm assuming this is an indoor cat.) The difference in the smell of the litter box is so worth paying the extra!!! And she didnt' seem to have near as much gas on it as other foods, either. (A big plus when they sleep with you! Haha.)
