Cats on a car trip help?

My two cats are going on a 5 hour car trip with us to our new house. The older cat is panting. I turned the cold air on, but that isn't helping. He also has peed in his cat carrier so I can imagine he is very uncomfortable. We have only been driving for 15 minutes. The other is doing better. They are both meowing a lot of course. I'm more concerned with my older cat's panting. Is he just hot or freaking out? Should I be concerned with this or is that a normal scared reaction. The other one isn't panting.

Try giving the cat some water. Use a dish, because some cats have trouble with the spout things. Most of the time cats pant because they're overheated. The AC might not be making much a difference to the temperature inside the carrier.

It relies upon on what percentage times you're taking your cats for a force. before the vacation, take them out for short journeys to get used to the motorized vehicle. 1st interior the service, then enable them roam round. the different weekend, my cat is going on a three hour force out of his service. He basically sits interior the backseat, satisfied and content. about injuries...they have some style of instinct. about an hour before we slid on ice, the cat desperately needed again in his service. With an 8 hour vacation, ensure your cats have get entry to to their clutter field.

He is just nervous. It should calm down. Mine did this when I picked her up from the breeder for ten minutes, the rest of the ride was fine. She goes in the car regularly now.

maybe let her out of the carrier for a little bit an let her sit on your lap or the seat.
